Goodbye Brandie Carolyn (Neese) George

Marty NeeseBrandie Carolyn (Neese) George sadly passed away on November 7th, 2010 in Villa Rica, Georgia at the age of 28 following a long fight against cancer. She was the daughter of C2C-R2C Crew Member and good friend Marty Neese.

As any of you who followed the ride in September 2010 will know, Marty gave up a full two weeks of his time to accompany Bill and Dondra Craig all the way out to Texas and then all the way back to Georgia, during which time he drove the van, helped with route planning, maintained the bicycle, and provided moral support all the way. During the ride Brandie was bravely battling cancer, a fact that must have weighed heavily on his mind every minute of every day while he was away from his home, but Brandie selflessly insisted that he go.

Brandie Carolyn (Neese) GeorgeBrandie was born on August 3rd, 1982 and was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 at the tender age of 21. During her prolonged fight against the disease she has been fondly described by fellow patients, nursing staff, and family members and friends as having been their "inspiration to fight" and as a well loved and kind person who "never complained and was always a light shining for God".

Brandie was laid to rest on November 11th, 2010, at Bethany Christian Church. She worked as church secretary for a number of years, and was a faithful Christian. She is survived by 4 year old Jacob and her husband, Brandon George.

We would like to extend our most sincere condolences to Marty, and all the other family members. Our hearts are breaking for you and we hope that in time you will find the inner strength to come to terms with your tragic and sad loss.
